The girls have become quite the stair climbers. They have gone from scooting on their tushes down and crawling up to walking. We still try to stay close just in case but most of the time they like to do it on their own. Megan periodically likes to walk up not holding on to the rail saying 'March March' not sure where she gets that from.

Well potty training is dragging a little bit. I thought it would have been a much faster process but then again I haven't probably given it might all and been consistent either. Megan is doing great and most days she only has one or two wet/soiled pull ups. Abby on the other hand seems to have lost interest. It can seem like a chore to get her to sit on the potty sometimes.
Since Megan had been doing so good I decided Saturday let her wear big girl panties. Abby was in tears so I ended up letting her wear a pair but put a pull-up over it. Well it didn't take long before they were both wet. I let Megan try again but she soon wet it again.
The training goes on....

This Saturday the girls made their transition to their big girl beds! We had been talking up big girl beds for weeks so it was a big deal for them. Kenny had assembled one of the beds last week and we had it in an extra bedroom. Every morning and night since then they made a point to go see it and had to touch it. Saturday Daddy assembled the second bed with the help of Megan his handy assistant.
They love their little beds. They do a great job staying in them until I come in and even then all they want to do is get books and crawl back in bed. I am so happy and proud of them. We had been promising them their beds for a while so it was nice to be let them have them and see them so excited.

This past Friday we transitioned the girls from their high chairs to booster seats. As you can see they were excited. Our first meal that night with both girls at the table made me smile at our little family. They seemed so grown up as we all sat and had a dinner together as a family. I didn't think going from a high chair to booster was going to be such a big change but it was.

At the end of April we took a short getaway down to Baltimore's Inner Harbor with the girls. We left Callie in the hands of a dog sitter for the first time so it was kind of a trial run for us. (By the way she did great). We stayed at the Hilton right next to Camden Yards. The hotel was great and the girls did awesome. They had brought a set of bed rails with us so the girls slept in one of the beds together. They thought it was pretty exciting.
We spent the afternoon with the girls at the Baltimore National Aquarium. We had gone last summer as well but this time they were able to enjoy it more and take more of it in. The following day we spent back down at the Inner Harbor and did a short harbor cruise. The girls were excited about going on a boat and could hardly sit still.
Despite that one small incident, it was a great trip. It was fun to get away with Kenny and the girls even if it was a short trip.

The girls and I took a little trip the beginning of May down to Virginia to see my good friend Jen and her wonderful family. The girls did great on the ride down there. A few days before we had made the move to pull ups vs diapers on the girls urging. So I decided to stop halfway to allow for a potty break not knowing how they would do. Just so happens the half-way point is right about the Gettysburg shopping outlets:) No complaints here....The girls were excited about going down there remembering Peyton (who is about 6 months older) and her brother Emory. All the kids got along great and had fun together. I was amazed at how well my two girls did playing with each other, the amount of fighting and crying was much less than when at home.
Jen and I fit in some shopping with our girls during the day and some fun crafty time making hairs bows for the girls after they went to bed. I haven't taken pictures but we did manage to make some cute clippies and bows which came out better than I had expected. Although craft time is great, hanging out with a good friend is even better.
Right behind where they live is a great little park which the girls absolutely loved! Of course, I freaked out a little trying to keep them both in sight at all times and keep them from climbing on the higher levels unless an adult was there with them. Mommy just isn't quite used to such daring little girls!
We had a great time but were happy to come and see daddy!
